First, you need to use mkisofs to make a bootable CD floppy image. Download it along with other tools from the cdrecord project. Next, make sure you have .img files of MS-DOS 6.22 install floppies. Make a new directory to put your .img files in and don't forget the name. Copy only the first disk to that directory. Now, in the directory that the folder is located in, use mkisofs with these parameters : -b 'filename of floppy image name' -o 'name of output iso image' 'name of directory with .img image' Dos. An iso file for the image should appear in the current directory.6.22
Now, replace the disk 1 image with the next disk and repeat the previous step. Repeat until all imgs were used. Now, you need to burn each iso to a CD or DVD. Turn on your test PC and change your bios settings to be in ATA compatibility mode and not ACHI mode. Now, boot off of Disk 1 and continue setup as normal. When it prompts you, insert the next disk and wait till the drive is activated then press enter and repeat until setup is finshed. Boot your PC and see what happens. If your pc boots normally then you are done. If you see a blinking cursor then insert Disk 1 and press F3 twice to enter a DOS prompt. Type in fdisk /mbr. You should also check to see if the drive partition is active in fdisk. You should now successfully boot to DOS from the Hard disk.
